Our team has reached Ranchi to enable #Ramu’s journey to the #ElephantHospital campus. #WSOS vets will be ensuring that Ramu is fit to be moved in the #ElephantAmbulance. He is only 19, yet suffers from severe osteoarthritis. We will keep posting updates once his journey starts.pic.twitter.com/qozNSBtcYu

Our team is preparing #Ramu for the long journey that lies ahead. A challenge we need to overcome is that Ramu has never been around any heavy machinery and the sight of the #ElephantAmbulance makes him nervous. We will update you as and when he is ready to begin the journey.pic.twitter.com/jkwNO9DjFG

Our team is creating a comfortable mud ramp for #Ramu to stand on without stressing his feet. We are trying to make him comfortable around us. The mud ramp has been covered with hay to ensure maximum comfort for his sore and damaged legs. Please send good thoughts for Ramu.pic.twitter.com/DaqESo98uq

Finally comfortable with the #ElephantAmbulance, #Ramu had lots of nutritious food and was given medication to soothe & treat the pain in his sore legs before the long trip. Specialized vets are there to tend to his every need. We will keep you posted.pic.twitter.com/BAsiteLwoK

After travelling all night, the team stopped for breakfast in UP. Ramu really seems to like banana leaves which the team has arranged for, from a field on the way. Your support makes these rescues possible. Please consider donating to benefit our elephant rescue & rehab program.pic.twitter.com/F42xVswC8N

It's been a productive morning for the team with steady progress. Ramu has been munching on fresh green fodder. The team is again on the road now, and just 500 kms remain between #Ramu and his forever home where a brand new life awaits for him. Keep sending good thoughts his way!pic.twitter.com/fORFX4XFH5

After #Ramu's arrival yesterday, he had a heavy meal of bottle gourd, bananas and sugarcane. He was also provided with laser therapy to help with the pain. The team conducted thermography and found major inflammation. They also found swelling and abscesses in his left limb.pic.twitter.com/jv24BZgMNz
