At this time of year, people are often looking to make donations and ask me about good wildlife organizations that fight wildlife trafficking and rescue animals. There are many, many good ones. Here are just a few that do great work that are under the radar.

Sheldrick Wildlife Trust in Kenya is a great elephant orphan rescue & rehabilitation program, & much more! Helps many kinds of injured wildlife, has teams to remove snares, and patrols for poachers. Has a great adoption program for gifts.

PAMS Foundation in Tanzania supports rangers and village game scouts who patrol for poachers, helps inform and educate young people about conservation, and helps reduce human-elephant conflicts with chili pepper fences.

Animal Defenders International (ADI) stops animal suffering with combo of investigations, education, advocacy, legislation, & rescues. Known for rescues of circus lions and tigers and new sanctuary that cares for them.

Animals Asia has rescued hundreds of bears from China and Vietnam's awful bear bile trade, and has established sanctuaries that provide a safe haven for them for the rest of their lives.
