    On chilly mornings, seed heads such as teasel look beautiful in the frost. It’s worth keeping seed heads standing in your garden in winter, not only for their attractiveness, but for birds looking for food & insects that hide inside through the winter!

  10. This Winter another 2,000 mixed UK-grown woodland trees including pine, oak, birch and hazel, will be added to the woodland. This brings the total number of trees planted over the last 21 years to apprx 70,000. Who else will be planting trees this

    is the traditional time to cut back flower borders to ground level but we now know how valuable seedheads and standing dead plant stems are to wildlife as cover over winter, so delay until later winter or even early spring if you can! 🍂🍁
