A graph of nodes observed in the ipfs network for the year. from ~14k to ~300k near the end of march. not sure the cause, but it's been a crazy past few months.

The jaggedness in the graph is a problem with my scraper, the sheer number of nodes was causing quite a few failures and crashes. Fixed it recently, but I still think the numbers are a bit low due to how the scraping works (its just one nodes view)

The failures are probably because nodes could not be connected by default, it might be blocked by the "Great Wall".

Can you help spread the word that anyone deploying an ipfs application for 'home desktop' users should run ipfs in dhtclient mode? This would really help us out. We're working on code that automatically detects this and does the right thing, but its going to take a bit
