Being unable to serve patients in their own communities is still unjustified. Yet today, for the first time in months, we feel joy. As the leading independent abortion provider in the United States we leave you with this: It's a beautiful day to provide Abortion Care.

We are offering medication abortion (up to 11 weeks) and in-clinic care up to 18 weeks--as well as our abortion pills by mail program in New Mexico. We have appointments available now, and are already seeing patients from across the Southwest.

If you need financial or travel support, please reach out to the Wayfinder Program and any other Texas orgs working to help patients travel for care. Orgs--if you are supporting Texans get abortion care--let us know to lift you up! Wayfinder Program:

We understand that a new clinic in New Mexico does not solve the fact that not every patient from Texas and beyond can travel for abortion care. Money alone cannot resolve every inhumane anti-abortion law, but know that we see you and we will continue to fight for you.

This day would not be possible without each of the 3,500+ donors on our New Mexico GoFundMe Campaign. We are still working to reach out goal to be able to open the rest of our building and to expand services to 24 LMP in the coming weeks. GoFundMe:

We are in the process of interviewing and hiring local staff from Albuquerque to provide abortion care on a continuing basis. We believe in hiring a staff that represents our local community, and we are thrilled to be part of the rich culture of this city and state.

Our New Mexico clinic is currently staffed with a group of Texans that know what it means to carry forward the legacy of our shuttered clinics. As of today, we are once again able to offer care to folks in the Southwest while actually being in the Southwest. We are overjoyed.

Since SB8 & the fall of Roe we’ve seen major increases of Texans receiving care in ’s Minnesota clinic. FYI: our Texas clinics were between 892-1400 miles away. Patients shouldn’t have a 1,000 mile trip between them and abortion care. Period.

⚠️ Despite what headlines might imply, Judge Kacsmaryk on his own doesn't have the power to ban Mifepristone! ⚠️ (Learn more about what legal experts are saying: msmagazine.com/2023/03/03/tex)

Reminder: Judge Kacsmaryk’s ruling will not have the power to ban MIFE immediately. The ball will be in the FDA’s court. No matter what the Judge says, Whole Woman’s Health can still offer medication abortion care with MIFE and MISO until we hear from the FDA.

Yup, that’s us. We know mifepristone is safe and effective. One judge in Texas doesn’t get to decide what’s best for our patients. We’re not backing down.

NEWS: In the last 24 hours, at least two abortion clinics/networks (Trust Women + Whole Womans Health) have announced that they will NOT immediately stop prescribing mifepristone if the judge rules to suspend or withdraw FDA approval. They will await a directive from the FDA.

Again, there are a number of ways that this case could play out on *both* sides. So until an FDA directive is given—you can expect us to continue using Mifepristone in all of our clinics and in our abortion pills by mail program. Reach us for care in MN, MD, VA, IL, IN, and NM.

Abortion Providers are not the plaintiffs in this case. There will be no “immediate ban” like we experienced in Texas with the reversal of Roe v. Wade last June. Only the FDA can make the decision to indefinitely or momentarily take Mifepristone off the market.

no one should have to leave their home state for abortion care, ever

We’re also going to need reporters & well-meaning coastal liberals to wrap their heads around this fact Re: abortion access. Texas is HUGE. NM is a 9 hour drive from Dallas. Denver is a 15 hour drive from Houston. We can’t just skip on over to “safe” states for our abortions. twitter.com/CAKitchener/st…

An important piece of this: Amarillo is really hard to get to. A five hour drive or a flight from Dallas. If Kacsmaryk had publicized this Tuesday night, as planned, very few journalists or advocates from other states would have been able to show up Wednesday morning.

This is not just reflective of providers in Texas—this is who we are nationwide. This is to every doctor, nurse, fund, advocacy group, phone, clinical or admin staff that plays a part in seeing that people get the care they need. We do the thing, and we’re damn proud of it. 💜

Abortion Providers are heroes. Period. When reflecting about how our providers have stepped up in times of need, we revisited this excerpt from about the Texas SB8 deadline and racing the clock to serve every single patient waiting in our clinic just before midnight.

Psst: WWH can you get you unpregnant no matter where you live. The best part?We are an independent provider, which means we have space to see you in person and online. Seriously - we won’t rest until you’re taken care of. Everyone should have this link: bit.ly/3TbcPYJ 💜

Abortions help people who don't want to be pregnant and that's fantastic. Imagine being pregnant, not wanting to be pregnant, realizing you can get an abortion, and then once you get your abortion, you're not pregnant. That's amazing!

There were over 82,000 abortions in Florida last year alone. If this passes into law, I cannot imagine what this will do to the clinics on the borders of haven states already trying to provide care to those traveling for abortion services. wfla.com/news/politics/

Breaking: A bill has been introduced in FL to ban abortion after 6 weeks, instead of the current 15 weeks. Today is the bill filing deadline, and it appears this is the bill Republicans will rally behind. This would have massive implications for women across the Southeast.

We cannot keep allowing politicians, judges, and state attorney generals to stand in the way of pregnant people and their reproductive freedoms. Our patients deserve care in the safest, most convenient ways available to them. Period.
