New data released today from @uscensusbureau: real median household income increased to over $63,000 in 2018, the highest level in almost 2 decades.

In 2018, inequality also fell. Households in the bottom half of the distribution (between the 20th and 40th percentile) experienced the largest increase in average household income among all quintiles in 2018, with a gain of 2.5 percent.
