I just pulled up the movie to double check it's true. It is. In the first 5 minutes I found like 6 laughably terribly censors (yes they changed "I have a PhD Motherfucker"). Like it's distractingly bad I don't get it.

Ok you know what, I'm furious about this.
The Suicide Squad was one of the most gratuitously violent films I've EVER seen, and that premiered and lives on HBO Max. In fact, that movie is heavily influenced by Birds of Prey.

Anyway, I'm fuming because Birds of Prey is an incredible film that means so much to me because it lets women be as rough and crass and brutal and human as men get to be. Men are celebrated for this behavior (see Deadpool) "Cleaning it up" is so so icky wtf

One more thing: From what I can tell, all the scenes dealing with SA are still there, uncensored. So yes, disgusting things are allowed to happen to women still but women aren't allowed to swear or show the middle finger or whatever. Great message.

The Suicide Squad was too much for me to watch in one sitting. It made me sick. Birds of Prey was a breeze.

The f*ck? The scene with the dangling family was the only one that stood out to me in that regard. Middle fingers, swearing and t-shirt slogans did not. TSS meanwhile has exploding heads and burning people 5 minutes into the movie.

Yeah from what I can tell, the most disturbing scenes (the family, Roman making the girl dance on the table, the attempted SA of Harley) are all unchanged (except for removing F words). So that says a lot. The double standard is wilddddd.
