    When unhoused residents unite & take charge, things CHANGE. A HUGE moment for our residents & the movement: we have bathrooms! We ordered, installed, & will maintain these port-a-potties ourselves to give this community a clean, safe space to use the restroom.

  2. Today, Sun. 2/2 between 1:30- 3 pm will be providing medical services and outreach at Seabreeze camp. The services today include HIV and Hep C testing, hygiene supplies and condoms, flu and Hep A vaccinations, and info about clinic services

    Every Saturday - Women it’s FREE & it’s walk-in from 11-2 pm. The Berkeley Free Clinic provides STI testing, pregnancy tests, urinary tract infection testing, and gynecological/urogenital services for women, trans, and gender non-conforming persons.

  4. Berkeley is proposing, on the consent calendar, to give $50K from state funds to Albany for mental health services, part of an established coordination contract. Voting "a very public no," says: Albany is "exporting its poor people to us"

  11. Thank you to our partner We are taking charge and getting folks the phones they need. You can’t get services if you are not reachable. Thank you for making tent calls and coming out to the encampments. This resident can’t walk so they came to her.

  17. The least interesting thing about homeless youth is homelessness. That was true for teen when she was kicked out of her home, for young when he slept in his car, for 21 yr old when she lived in a shelter. And it’s true now for kids

    Huge news: We have reached an agreement to purchase . Wedgewood will negotiate in good faith w/ the Oakland Community Land Trust () to purchase the Magnolia Street home for "a price not to exceed the appraised value." This is what happens when we organize, y'all.

  20. We just bought 10 tent heaters for a total of 12. We still have 68 heaters to go! Each heater costs $65. It's cold outside. This means so much! Thank you everyone for your support!

    "... our goal is to purchase Little Buddy Tent Heaters. We have over 100 residents at all four [[West Berkeley]] encampments. At minimum I need to purchase 80 heaters, fire extinguishers, and 80 cans of propane..."
