Just on my way home from the European @InfinityTheGame Challenge in Mallorca. A fantastic event run by great people in a beautiful location. I’m going to try and cover most of it in the following thread:pic.twitter.com/UxdyyPj1WV

First the location: Mallorca is a beautiful place and the resort is brilliant. All inclusive, everything taken care of and inexpensive. It’s perfect for a wargaming holiday. Additionally, for those of you with families, it’s a 3 star resort with all the facilities/activities.
The players: this is my second year here. First time we were five non Spanish players, now a quarter of us were international. Including the USA, England, France, Germany, Russia, Poland... great people turned up and I had a blast meeting loads of great people.pic.twitter.com/d6EF0Mvt1l
So, on to the games: R1 vs my personal criptonite: Nomads in acquisition. A fairly effective first turn was countered by a brutal yuan-yuan drop and my second turn being laughably deflected. Managed to hang in there with score but ultimately lost 4-6.pic.twitter.com/JKnuXaZRZX
R2 va OSS in the custom “gotta catch em all” scenario. Smoke grenades let me grab pokemon and Uxia rolls insanely well, surviving til the end and draining so many orders. My opponent plays well despite terrible dice and I scrape a 4-2 win.pic.twitter.com/TKdyF7ffyn
R3 vs a young but very talented IA player. I forget that IA get access to Aleph drop troops and one rips through Wallace and his link. I manage to dominate the board however and after a Hail Mary move from them I end up winning 6-2.pic.twitter.com/6kfvLMlZJK
I made it to the second day! R4 vs Nomads AGAIN (bugger) on Hunting Party (double bugger). This game is a comedy of errors. Both our superior infiltrations fail, both our drop troops fail and our armies kinda ineffectively flail at one another.
The game swings when Raoul (walking on from my deployment zone) manages to take an objective and immobilise some specialists as my scots guard single handedlu holds the other flank. Neither of us got near our opponent’s LT but I win on objectives 4-0.
Final game vs OSS in Frotsbyte. I take first turn and have the Grey link team ready to wreck face. He deploys his Marut infront of it, knowing I have access to white noise. Therefore I can feel the TO camo sniper coming. Of course it was a trap but his gamble doesn’t work.pic.twitter.com/PsulfMAF23
The sniper and the Marut go down in very quick succession. Spector then drops in and kills the sophotect so neither are getting back up. Yojimbo suicides into Wallace but even in loss of LT I shore up the board and whittle down the dakini link as it comes in. I get my objos 4-0
Result: so I’m happy with a 4-1 spread for sure! However I still placed 31st as, you may have noticed, all my victories were minor on very few OPs so that knocked me down a lot. Still happy with the results though and my opponents were all super nice and fun!
Caledonia: this is my second big tournament with the Scots and I love playing them BUT I’m having issues with them in newer scenarios. Keeping ahold of my I’ll gotten gains is very tricky with them which isn’t forcibly suited to the new ITS season. Some food for thought.
Overall I had another great time at the event and would heartily recommend it to anyone wanting to go to one of the most entertaining satellite events out there!
