When a trans person ends up causing a huge fact and people bring up that they're trans as a defense, it doesn't mean it absolves them of criticism, it means that since the internet has branded them as wrong, everyone's gonna dogpile them and transphobic remarks are inevitable

Exactly!! It's never "trans people are perfect and don't deserve criticism" it's always "people are targeting their transness to harass them and are using their bigotry to bring more bigots in to harass them for being trans. They are being targeted for being trans."
