In reality the real world leaks into twitter In terms of strangers interacting, twitter is the biggest site for that, so you get people of many different beliefs, backgrounds and such colliding and clashing with each other. If you put a cobra and mongoose in a box, they're gonna-

-fight regardless. Twitter is not the problem, twitter is the platform. It's the toxicity of the individuals who use it that is the problem.

I think twitter's platform is a bigger problem than its users. The platform enforces the censorship, chooses what posts people see and dictates how they are able to interact with them. The toxicity is fostered both by twitter itself and outside forces such as the media.

There are no different opinions clashing on twitter. There is one acceptable opinion for every topic on twitter. Any opposing or in-the-middle opinion stays silent or gets silenced. Twitter's staff, platform and setup encourages this.
