I think twitter's platform is a bigger problem than its users. The platform enforces the censorship, chooses what posts people see and dictates how they are able to interact with them. The toxicity is fostered both by twitter itself and outside forces such as the media.
How does it enforce censorship Like most social media, algorithms choose what people see, algorithms that you can manually alter before like, a week ago you could respond in any way to a tweet you can see Toxicity is formed by those using it, whether it's businesses, brands etc
