Though especially recently the term femboy has been subject to fetishization, I don't think we should start labelling every derogatory term as slur, for nearly a decade a lot of GNC and LGBTQ+ people have been using it because they're comfortable with it and for a lot of them--https://twitter.com/makorays/status/1270937437536227328 …

--it helps them understand their identity more, like my friend Mako here. To him, it feels like an attack on his identity, like obviously he cares about the treatment of trans people, and he's not like others like Dmitri Monroe who like to shame trans people

As a black LGBT guy who knows what it's like to be publicly and privately called slurs, slurs have much more context and pain behind them, you can tell people not to refer to people a certain way without branding a word a slur

And the point of all this isn't to minimise the pain of trans people because that pain is very real, whether someone says a slur or not I just feel you can call something derogatory or insulting with grouping it with words that are tied to centuries of abuse

you can toss tr*p though, that's always been derogatory, to trans and gnc people
