"time to abuse the power that's entrusted in me" It's not meant to be a 1-1 official statement on the Sonic movie, it's a random rant she had after thinking about it

so you just proved my fucking point about using a throw away gag to criticise a movie while STILL being wrong. an abuse of power isn't always brutality, i use my position to unfairly better my own odds of recieving bonuses or taking bribes to look the other way. done abuse.

That was never the point though? Penny never said "There is police brutality in this film and the film glorifies it" she was just giving her own throwaway thought about cops within media

if that was never the point why did you put focus on it? if you were making a point you'd put focus on that fucking point. if you have to backtrack don't take that step in the first place.

I put focus on it because you did And so I responded

and then i pushed to the point i wanted to make and you had to change gear to defend your own actions while not actually debunking anything of what i've said. and even then, i put focus on it because she did, the focus was flawed so i focused on that biggest flaw.

Because there was nothing to debunk? I know police brutality isn't the only form of corruption. She was just ranting about why she felt something was in poor taste, you're making a hardcore debate about someone's bedtime thoughts

but it wasn't in poor taste, poor taste is an inherently current events thing, the sonic movie released before even the corona virus so how the fuck could it be made in poor taste to a protest that didn't even fucking exist at that point?

i think the point is that its in poor taste in general. yknow police abusing their power existed before last week right

then why did chiek say that wasn't the main point? is the joke the issue yes or no? if yes, it's a 3 second joke inside of a feature length movie making it unrepresentative as criticism if no why was there so much focus placed onto it in the first place?

I said "Penny never said "There is police brutality in this film and the film glorifies it"" wasn't the point My main point is -she makes a random thought about something being in bad taste -someone tries to call her out aggresively -I say it's not worth the effort
