Yeah, thats almost the kind of thing that desves a whole, fully fledged arc, with multiple episodes and huge stakes. Not a hint and a scene at the end of a completely different show, focused on a different arc, which came out two years after that event happened.

Fam what does this even mean

It means that Peridot (9 episodes), Lapis(4 episodes), Onion(5 episodes), Lars (9 episodes), shouldn't have character arcs that are longers than the diamond's. This whole issue should have been explored directly and for an extended time. Not through hints and small scenes.

It also means that it has been almos 2 years in our real life time since steven got his gem ripped out. And it has been either nearly 3, or 3 years in total, in the universe of the show itself
