I don't even understand why this is considered bad, it's not like it was solely a hug Steven transformed because he felt he was a monster and he couldn't share his problems Everyone expressed how he's helped them and that they're there for him he detransformed and started therapy
The crying was meant to show how they're making it about themselves I feel that part was stilted and drawn out but it still worked And, well, predictable doesn't mean bad, what else would you expect them to do? The shows main theme is love after all

Just due to basic story conventions I can predict majority of movies and how they'll end. At that point it's more about whether or not you enjoy the ride. Which is understandable but then we just arguing the most subjective element of everything.
