Even though I'm still working on episode 2, I'll give some insight for what I have planned for episode 3. It'll be titled "Genesis of Metallix" and the whole episode will be dedicated to showing Metallix's origins. How Sonic knows about Mario and the genocide on Mobius.

Yeah. But it helps thin out the available roster. Make Metallix into a credible threat and give the heroes a clear motivation to stop him.

I also get the sense that the series is supposed to be mostly the Mario universe and its characters with a little bit of Sonic stuff mixed in rather than just 50/50.
