This has been on my mind a lot but I think there's a lot in this world that isn't absolute, but we've all decided as a society that almost everything has to be 100% one way and the fact of the matter is that a lot of unnecessary discourse is caused by this idea of absolutes.--

We have such a weird obsession with giving everything a label and "qualifications" like for example, how we separate animals into different categories like mammals and reptiles but then what the fuck is a platypus if it breaks the rules of what it is (May be a little deeper than-

-that but still) I feel this better applies to thoughts, feelings and opinions, where we can be split on things, we can be conflicted, and at times we may just not be able to come to a conclusion on something. No one knows everything, so some people act purely off the info that--

-they have and others do the same but they also consider the possibility of the stuff they don't know. It's perfectly fine to not be 100% on something and consider all the possibilities, and I think it's dangerous and toxic to imply that if people don't have a specific opinion--

--in a debate then they're the scum of the earth (this of course doesn't refer to situations in which people's human rights are threatened or any situation that allows for bigotry and intolerance) on that topic, gender is a thing that's always difficult to talk about because --

this is probably where people are gonna stop reading, but gender is a spectrum, and science has made the distinction between sex and gender for years now the issue is the society's need for labels and absolutes didn't allow for it, everything had to be one way or another--

But now the "rules" of sex/gender have been broken and it shows that we don't really need all these "rules", especially when gender means different things to different people, I feel the opposition to acknowledging gender as a spectrum is rooted in old societal transphobia--
