--happens "cancelling" isn't real, it's a nebulous turn used either to try and avoid criticism or to describe the phenomenon where people take you out of context or dredge up old shit from years ago and ignore the concept of change, and then make stuff up to incriminate you--

--further I say this as someone who knows people who were "cancelled" and abused people who were accused of trying to "cancel" someone, it's a shitty term and it was never needed in the first place
