-further. There are certain aspects to some of these characters that come from the design inspiration, for example Nessa I believe isn't wearing a swimsuit, but typical atletic attire like Christine Ohurugou, which makes sense with the whole athletic theme of the gyms

I also find importance in noting the other black characters in Pokemon (there aren't that many though) such as Lenora and Iris from BW, Sina and Emma from XY I would say however that there is quite a bit of media where this happens though, so I feel your arguments are still valid
