Way too true and sad, parents like that just shouldn't have children, which very much includes my own

like the one "study" that was done on it was just. so terrible. they polled the parents and not the actual kids themselves, and ran it on an online forum where result are even more easily falsified. and transphobes believe it, because they don't actually care about science.
-
Because the criteria for it is the opinion of the parents. Not the kid.

I wonder what the Venn Diagram would look like between parents who believe in "ROGD" and those that believe that vaccines cause Autism. Its probably just a circle.
-
I think the only deviations from this would be attributable to different levels of exposures to different pseudoscientific theories and their associated hate-movement. So yeah, asymptotically a circle.

If it appears "rapid" then what that really says is that the child didn't feel safe enough to express themselves around their parent. To share their feelings. And anyone labelling that child ROGD is simply justifying that fear and caution.
-
Or the parent didn't listen or truly know their kid in the first place because they were too wrapped up being weird on Mumsnet and 4thWave

My mom subscribes to this notion. Can confirm it's nothing more than harmful pseudoscientific bs for transphobic parents who value their feelings and egos over the lives and wellbeing of their own child.
