...basically why I don’t want to hear media/corp drone on about _my_ obligations to save the planet, which curiously enough always imply doing something unnatural, like using non-existing infrastructure and footing the bill for mistakes made by folks on yachts. It’s not sincere.
It ends up that we’re all NOT “in this together” and I refuse to “take one for the team” when the is no “team” with a shared social purpose. You’ve got the growing poor, the private jet owners and the ever-shrinking middle class with “moral obligations” for envo now.
Like my utilities company is trying to guilt trip me by telling me I use 60% more energy that some crazy baseline they came up with? I’m not setting my thermostat to 55. And in other places with similar climate they build thick brick-encased walls with plenty of insulation.
