Anderson County lost one of its truest public servants last night and I lost a friend. I’ll miss Richard’s stories and seeing him around town. Prayers to his family and all who loved him.

With a sad heart, we inform you of the passing of Richard Shirley, Clerk of Court. Mr. Shirley faithfully served Anderson County citizens for decades in several capacities and will be greatly missed. As coworkers, we extend our condolences to his family and friends.
