there are so many black people who I love and care about who work at the NYT, and they deserve so much better than to have their own employer endangering not only their lives but the lives of their friends and families and millions of other Americans

Unbiased doesn't mean treat every piece of info or every topic as having equal measure, meaning, or weight. You wouldn't give equal air-time for debate to your kids who claim broccoli causes cancer. You know it's wrong, incorrect, & untrue. imo - NYT published for clickbait $$$

@jayrosen_nyu has been saying this for 20 years. Sometimes not very diplomatically, so editors like me roll our eyes (sorry, Jay). But his fundamental point about journalism in service of democracy—journalism as a civic practice—is right. -
