    I grew up working 100 hours a week roughnecking in the West Texas heat. I find it comical when I hear people in the tech industry talk about working hard.

    For all people in the tech industry argue about working hard, we don’t actually work that hard. Compared to people in finance, the culinary industry, and law – it’s not even close.

    This has been true thus far

    You gotta love what you do; the process, the work, the climb. You have to love it because you’ll experience heartbreak along the way. You’ll go through slumps. Things will be unfair at times. And when those things happen, your love for what what you do, will carry you through.

    As part of an innovation team and production engineer I always thought this was true. The issue lies with creating a product or service around an specific problem while still operating. Doing both results in a sub optimal product or slow development

    The thing that is intriguing to me about starting up is your selling an idea. Whether to an investor/client, the material and the way you craft a story makes or breaks the engagement. Without a product the story itself can win. Everything is about positioning!

    I wonder what the percentage of people heading to the office Saturday 7 pm vs partying...taking a sample set from the bike over it seems like <1%. Business > socializing and spending money
