Who is this lad

His name is Tobias and he uses a Darkrai and Latios in his team. For all we know he has more legendaries on his team.

Alain was worse honestly because at least Ash put up a fight against Tobias and we knew the outcome of the Tobias match as soon as we saw his Darkrai for the first time. Alain took everyone by surprise + a ton of stuff implying Ash would win.

To be fair, Alain was build up as this monstreous best from the beginning and was in equal plainfield with Ash: no legendaries and basically a mega each. The other asshole just came out of the blue with 2, and maybe more, legendaries.
