Yeah until two years from now when Republicans start suing independent redistricting commissions, and Republican judges rule that they are unconstitutional, and put mapmaking back in the hands of state legislators elected from gerrymandered districts.

If I understand the jurisprudence and legal texts though, the Court has said legislators are in charge, which means they get to delegate redistricting to whomever they will. Today's decision reinforces that -- namely, that the courts have no role.
