Caucasians Caucus ‘cause it’s a method of control Only the people who pull up & stay have any say-so So if you’re broke with no ride Or can’t stay because there’s no childcare inside You or your candidate won’t have any pull. Enjoy!!

For those waiting for PhD program acceptances: I got rejected by my top two, deferred to a MA by the third, and waitlisted at the 4th, my lowest preference. Got into Michigan off the waitlist -- it's VERY common -- and it was the best thing that could have happened to me.

In Epi, there is a burden to be "objective" to be taken seriously. The problem is, objectivity is conflated with upholding the status quo. When people say "less political" all they mean is "your perspective is rocking the boat and making me uncomfortable."

Recently, I polled my bisexual followers on what about bisexuality they want information on. By far, the most common response I got was along the lines of "Who gets to claim bisexuality?" So I wrote this for (because the answer is YOU):

1/6: We learn about Black history throughout the year. Still, for the entire month of February, at the start of each class I’m going to a play short video clip about Black history-makers. That way students can get a more nuanced view of Black history. Here are 5 for this week:

    1. I know a lot of people want an America that is governed from a position of morality, but the fact of the matter is that this will never happen. This country has been immoral since it's inception. Any nation that depends on thriving on the bodies and labor of the most

The Cherokee Nation oppressed many of its Black citizens & is thankfully working to make it right. Here is a story about a descendant of an enslaved person who rightfully shoulda always been a citizen but was denied that for many years.

Here’s another story about Seminole leader Osceola teaming up with John Horse & leading the largest (& to a large extent, the only successful) slave revolt. This is an amazing story of the power we can achieve when we work together.

Yes, JLo is 50. Yes, Shakira is 43. Yes, Steven Tyler is 71 and performed at the Grammys. We need to stop acting like everyone is supposed to be dead at 29.

In the new Taylor Swift documentary, she says “my entire moral code is the need to be perceived as good” and I’m going to be thinking about this until I die.

I have ADHD & most folks are surprised to discover this. Get lots of comments abt how is it possible that I can do X (e.g. publish/research) if I have it? It doesn't look like you might think & it's not all negative. My ADHD allows me to hyperfocus, which is great for research.

The "chief" trope is a projection of colonizer military associations of leadership and war as well as one that promotes colonizer patriarchy and toxic masculinity.
