Now would be a great time for other Banks to offer an incentive for switching over.

I saw a $300 incentive for
@Chase to open a checking account with direct deposit. https://accounts.chase.com/consumer/banking/online?px=HV42274&jp_aid_a=%2FAcquisition%2FConsumerBank%2FP6XLOBAmazon&jp_aid_p=retail_checking_hp%2Ftile … I'm taking advantage of that asap! -

Astonishing that there was no email sent out to customers to inform them of this outage and the mitigation plan and an estimated date to get systems up and running. Unreal for a national financial institution.
-
So true
-
Nothing is working for them to send out any notifications via text or email... It's all running off the system that is shut down.
-
I’ve been in IT for decades. Every major company has a contingency plan that includes a fail over system to handle outages. It generally includes a backup data center. The fact that WF doesn’t have this is concerning and outrageous.
-
I agree with you on that, but that unfortunately isn't the case so there's no way for any type of communication beyond text. Is it right? No. But people demanding text alerts from a system that is just downright not working and doesn't have a backup is comical to me.
-
You’re right. I do feel for the poor WF employee who is likely sitting in their bedroom on their mobile phone taking orders from WF corporate PR on what to post on the company’s Twitter feed. That’s the only technology that’s working at the moment.

Honestly, this reply makes thing sound 1000000% worst. One is being a victim of an attack, the other implies your entire GLOBAL OPERATION goes down cause of one fire in one building.

Dust brought down Wells Fargo.
