Idea being to solve a few issues: 1) Annoyances with inviting players/casters to lobby and misconfiguring + having to regame. 2) Move map veto/pick process from chat to visually appealing method. 3) Map pick process could be done to look good on streams(like dota pick/bans)
Yeah, you could bank the choice from lobby 1 and carry it through to the other maps. All of the maps would need to be owned by the same author for M2M loading to work, and you'd need each map to handle the transition logic via triggers.

Campaigns use map to map loading this way. When you boot up a campaign, you usually boot up a "Nexus" map that reads your bank and determines what the heck to do with you.
