What has the carceral system got to do with anything except that it holds people that otherwise would be a threat to decent citizens? Protect innocents first. Then let’s talk criminal justice reform. Expecting this most basic item of civilization does not make one a neoliberal.

Well, to begin with, I feel compelled to inform you that I am a U.S. citizen. Secondly, when somebody in a debate starts to swear at me, it tells me they have run out of arguments. Lastly, I am not against justice reform or rehabbing criminals - but let’s protect citizens first
