Run Git hooks checkbox does not display at all when I commit. I how I get the checkbox to be visible?
You can uncheck Run Git Hooks checkbox on the Commit dialog if you don't want to run any hooks.pic.twitter.com/bjl4KaZx8T

it's a great feature, although removing the selection has an effect only on the current commit, and the selected state comes back the next time I commit - maybe it should work like Check TODO, Perform code analysis ie. the choice should persist, or settable in Preferences

We actually did that intentionally (https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/IDEA-115914#focus=streamItem-27-2073524-0-0 …). What is your use case? Why don't you need to run this hook?
