You don't have to have the Node.js plugin installed to use Prettier in IJ. The default set of plugins in IJ and WebStorm is different, e.g. Vue.js, Prettier, Node.js plugins are not installed in IJ out-of-the-box, but they all are listed if you press Install JetBrains pluginspic.twitter.com/CJf2MFYZEg

Yup, what you show on the screenshot is super confusing ;-/ Which are plugins in the main list here? Aren't they JetBrains plugins too? About the Node.js package: you'll want to do that anyway to control Prettier version instead of using a random one from IJ.

The main list just shows all the installed plugins - it doesn't matter who has developed it. We've meant the Node.js plugin, not the package. IJ or WS don't have a built-in Prettier package, you have to install it either globally or as a project dependency.
