@WebStormIDE debugging e2e tests is that simply selecting the protractor option in run/debug configuration? Then npm start and debug?
You need to start the app and webdriver-manager first and then create a new Protractor run/debug configuration and hit debug. Let us know if it doesn't work, we'd be happy to help.

What do you mean with starting the webdriver-manager? I forgot to mention it is an
@angular 5 app. -
When using Protractor directly, it seems that you need to start it manually: https://www.protractortest.org/#/ Maybe in the apps generated using Angular CLI it is part of some npm script, haven't checked yet.
