@intellijidea @WebStormIDE for me the most annoying thing in JS/ES6 is that "insert import" feature is always producing "bad" pathspic.twitter.com/QxQMmIEmKN

@intellijidea @WebStormIDE for me the most annoying thing in JS/ES6 is that "insert import" feature is always producing "bad" pathspic.twitter.com/QxQMmIEmKN
It would be very appreciated if you solved this. Managing JS imports by hand is so painful and makes me consider changing IDE
Note that app is marked as "source root", I don't need fancy webpack integration, yet all paths are still shitty ./../../../comp
Is ScrollToTop a named export in atoms/ScrollToTop.js? Please try to check the options in Preferences | Editor | Code style | TS/JS - Import
The options "Use paths relative to the source root" and "Use directory import" should do the trick.
omg it works, it imported import ScrollToTop from "app/components/atoms/ScrollToTop";
but it did not lookup for index.js however, yet ScrollToTop is present in index.js file as a named import so I expect it to be used first
Have you checked the second option "Use directory import"? It should do exactly that.
Yes I have checked both. ScrollToTop can be imported both from ScrollToTop.js (default) and index.js (named), and it always pick the first
Thanks, we'll double-check and get back to you in the issue. May be we'll need a bigger code sample.
this is really annoyed
You can always disable auto imports in Preferences | Editor | General | Auto import ;-)
