I'm going back to @AtomEditor after trying @WebStormIDE. Atom's soft tabs are the perfect solution for tabs vs. spaces. Webstorm flubs it.
Can you please help us understand the difference here? WebStorm adds spaces if you hit tab based on the code style settings.

The problem isn't adding spaces. It's about cursoring through white space. Soft tabs treats the appropriate number of spaces as a tab...

It's a minor difference, but it saves keystrokes when cursoring through a file that uses spaces For someone with RSIs, every stroke counts.

You can hit CMD-Right Arrow to jump the gap (in any app, not just WS or Atom).

I'm aware, but it's a poor workaround for the IDE's shortcomings. cmd-right/left hops the whole line instead of one tab at a time.
