I have to use Visual Studio Code sometimes to set up breakpoints on my Typescript because I haven't figured out how to do it in WebStorm. :(

You can put the breakpoints in the TypeScript code and debug it in WebStorm as well. If it works in Code, it should work in WebStorm too.
