How can I disable prettier in @WebStormIDE ? It formats on commit anyway, meantime there are some quirks (newline policy) that I don't like.

Do you mean that you don't want to run Prettier on commit, right? Please check if you have a git pre-commit hook set up and delete it. This is not WebStorm-specific.

@WebStormIDE I want to tell WebStorm not to observe the .prettierrc and observe the settings I had already set up. The instant feedback on non compliance (red lines) is distracting, especially given their take on linebreaks (https://github.com/prettier/prettier/issues/4131 …) I only want it in the hook1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes -

WebStorm doesn't report any code style inconsistencies in the editor. Could it be that you're using Prettier via ESLint? Screenshot showing the errors would help a lot to understand what's going on.

Ah, yes indeed, prettier is set up as an eslint plugin: "plugins": ["
@typescript-eslint", "prettier"], With this setup it reports formatting errors in the same way as syntax/compilation/grammar errors. Somewhat distracting and devalues more serious issues.pic.twitter.com/P37xIIW0xM

Yeah, seems to be a rather common setup nowadays. Good that you've solved it.
