Hey @WebStormIDE, we all love WebStorm but having a Java-only plug-in API is a real barrier to expanding the plugin ecosystem.
Have you given any thought to creating a a Node-based JavaScript plugin API?

It is now possible to run JavaScript code as a service and connect to it from the plugin written in Kotlin or Java, e.g.https://github.com/denofevil/import-cost …

Too bad. The problem is I (and I'm sure many others) don't have the bandwidth to learn yet another language, ecosystem, tooling, etc., on top of the plugin API. I'm writing code in 6 languages and using as many APIs now. I've used Java in the past, but don't want to relearn it.
