We don't have a separate feature request about the project template, but here's a more general request that you can vote for and follow: https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/WEB-18571 To be honest, we don't have any ETA on when it will be implemented.

Unfortunately, because of the broken remote-debugging-port in Electron, there's not so much we can do now to facilitate the debug :( But thanks for all your feedback! We'll see what we can do to make the overall experience with Electron in WebStorm better.
