@WebStormIDE pasting ‘ will get rewritten to \’ if , is the next character… e.g. non-json object key/value pairs in code, even if the string starts with ‘ … annoying bug
WebStorm escapes the symbols pasted into the string literals. You can turn it off in Preferences | Editor | Smart keys. Can you please tell a bit more about the use case - when do you need to paste a quote after an opening quote?

I see, thanks! So the current behavior with that option enabled seems to be the correct. Option #1 would be to turn off that checkbox about smart paste and option #2 is to use Paste without formatting instead. And we'd also recommend trying the replace quotes intention :)pic.twitter.com/5ycJBGo2x0
