Been watching recent fire activity with horror. Note to prospective CA/West home buyers. Things will get worse; insurance cos are likely to blacklist entire neighborhoods/regions in the future. Think long & hard about fire insurance before you buy. Uninsurable=unsellable.

That story usually ends with the affected state setting up a state-run insurer of last resort that picks up what private carriers won’t. The state run carrier generally ends up as a massive cash drain on the state. So you have that to look forward to.
-
And so yet again, blue will subsidize red, with red biting the hand that feeds it. It's a story that never ends...
-
Unless they federalize this (unlikely: the Feds learned with flood insurance that it’s really hard to do high-risk insurance and not have it turn into a subsidy program) this will remain an intrastate set of subsidies.

When the wind finally does a regular, mostly endless E to W wind, it will be one of the first signs. Of what will happen next for them from climate change. Melting creates more pressure. Temperature rises from it. Large liquid masses begin pulling in energy to reach gas state.pic.twitter.com/1TpdoygnDW
