This is one of the final disgraces of the outgoing PM and govt in Iraq. The PM-designate, a man with no official capacity yet, is rolled out on PMO website to basically say nothing, because the outgoing PM has no interest or capability to do anything. Truly dire, and so typical.

    8. 3% of the West Bank Palestinian population would still be living under Israeli sovereignty, including the communities of Bani Naim, Qibya, Rantis, Shuqba, Kafr Qaddum, Hajja, and Immatin.

    7. ...Trump plan annexes or keeps admin control over 100% of settlements (104,000 additional settlers, 77 settlements). This is a key shift from past plans, which focused on settlements inside the barrier. Israeli West Bank goes from 8% to 31%

    5. The two swaps mean Palestinians would receive 884 sq km total. Palestinians get 83% or 5,152 of 6,195 sq km of land. 6,195 includes West Bank, Gaza, East Jerusalem, northern quadrant of the Dead Sea (under Israel in plan), half of “No Man’s Land” near Jerusalem, and swap areas

    4. Swap 2: plan proposes “allocating for the Palestinians Israeli territory close to Gaza…within which infrastructure may be rapidly built to address Gaza’s pressing humanitarian needs, and...enable the building of thriving Palestinian cities and towns.” This area is 625 sq km.

    3. This figure rises to 71% when adding 259 sq km of proposed swap areas from Israel, adjacent to West Bank, a controversial proposal. This includes the three communities known as the “Triangle,” where 109,000 Israeli Arabs live. Netanyahu’s office has said this is “unrealistic”

    2. Swap 1: the Trump plan proposes a Palestinian state that incorporates about 67% of the West Bank (i.e., 3,907 of its 5,834 square kilometers).

    1. There are two sets of territorial exchanges that give Palestinians territory in the plan known as “swaps.” They both relate to areas inside Green Line Israel (pre-1967). One is in areas adjacent to the West Bank and one is connected to Gaza.

I just sat up a lot straighter in my chair. No one action, no one man, can fix a PMO or a military on their own. But when they start to work together ... so watch for the counter-lobbying, and expect this to be a stunt. I would love to be wrong.
