People think these are naive, innocent mistakes. They know excess spending debases the currency. They know their energy policies are fueling higher prices. They know that subsidies raise prices. When they said they wanted to fundamentally remake America, they meant it.

Last week President Biden incorrectly stated that he passed legislation to bailout student loans.
Congress never approved such a reckless plan.
Fortunately, the courts recognize that only Congress can authorize spending and they have halted Biden’s unconstitutional plan.

Historically, inflation hasn’t been tamed until borrowing costs exceed the rate of inflation. Growing the supply of labor would help reduce inflation. Scaling down artificial stimulus (government subsidies) would increase labor force participation. Democrats prefer recession…

The Federal Reserve should be selling assets shrinking the balance sheet, but they’re still buying after ST debt matures. Selling would have similar effect on rates (higher), without the cadence of centrally planned rate announcements. $1T sold = xx bps?
