America's healthcare economy is broken. Single-payer is not the solution, but neither is single-provider. Both abandon market forces. That's why the House passed HR372 last March - to end the antitrust exemptions health insurers exploit. The Senate needs to pass this bill!!!https://twitter.com/feeonline/status/1045237874642292738 …

You clearly do not (or refuse to) understand how healthcare works. Market forces don't work when you're talking about cancer treatment. You can just walk away from the sale like it's a used car. Every other developed country seems to understand this except us.

And you continue with your propaganda. Why wasn't this being discussed before? You were more interested in your personal agenda, and the interests of your business friends and donors. Such a pathetic excuse for a Congressman.

Ok. If you’re right, then why are more heavily regulated & directed systems i.e. those with universal healthcare consistently cheaper than ours? Our Per Capita expenditure for health care is $10,348 whereas its $4,192 (the UK) $4,752 (Canada), & $4,519 (Japan) as 3 examples

Markets will never provide all Americans with “quality” healthcare—that’s not what markets do nor are they supposed to. Markets provide a range of options not all of which are “good” and sometimes not even “fair.” No one wants the burner-phone equivalent of heart surgery.

As long as profits and insurance companies are involved in healthcare patients will NEVER be the focus. Insurance companies reimburse and cover less and charge consumers more. Plus when u guys repeal pre existing conditions they will drop anyone that causes them to pay

The only way to make it better is taking the PROFIT out of healthcare. A LIFE and quality of it should not have profits tied with it giving companies rights of which things they will and will not cover

If u really want 2 lower health care costs, u need 2 allow negotiation of drug prices, reduce role of insurance companies who add little value, & reduce pricing abuses. US spends more & receives less in terms of quality care. Of course, u would have 2 view all as worthy of care.

Congressman, one point that no one in Congress is discussing is the fact we as a country make incredibly bad decisions regarding our health and there is zero accountability for that. There must be incentives for both the carriers and the insured.

Congress needs a concerted effort to minimize government involvement in the healthcare industry.
