Y'Shaarj, Garrosh got the heart remember.
Aman'thul ripped him apart and flung the pieces to the cosmos. If I remember right, the heart fell back down to Azeroth. Devs state even though their corruption lingers, they should be considered dead, but there's always an open door they (or others) could return in the future.
There was an interview where they entertained the idea of the old gods returning to and regenerating in the void, similar to demons in the Twisting Nether. Nothing really concrete or set in stone. I miss my squidbois already.
