I still remember back in Legion when they said Sylvanas was reluctant to become Warchief and the storyline was going to test her values and commitment to the Horde. This writing is clunky AF.

She didn't want to be Warchief, but she needed to be. It's reasonable to consider she'd rather return to Undercity, or even just a simpler time in Azeroth's history. Think of how Thrall wanted to stay in Nagrand and how Saurfang responded : "We don't get to hide."

This has been unfolding since Legion .. and yall dare to say it’s “badly written”. Every major moment has been done because Sylvanas is giving this “jailor” souls and death. Teldrassi, Lorderon and Saurfangs death ( where i assume she wanted to have many deaths take place)
