Look at those CLASSICS! I played so much AD&D I knew where all the bugs were. Also, if you wriggled the cartridge you could sometimes screw up the data and get really wild effects to let you run through walls etc.
Looking back I think it was the first game that scared me. The snake and dragon sound effects when they were close, and their crazy speed on the Purple levels.
