Nobody is saying that you need to have a long conversation either but simple gestures matter. I appreciate those friends who hit me up and say, “I hope you and your family are good. Sending you love”. That takes two seconds. But that’s just me though.

I know everyone’s friendships are different but I couldn’t sleep if I didn’t check up on my friends + family. People are losing so many people they love and value in this pandemic, I couldn’t imagine not hitting up the folks I care about the most to check in. Nope.

Same. Just a short message just to see how a person is doing doesn't hurt but I don't expect everyone to do the same for me.

A short message takes two seconds. People always have their phones in their hands. So I do understand why people may feel away but everyone isn’t me and I’m learning that.

Despite how easy it is, I’m overwhelmed by the amount of people who cross my mind and heart and therefore just end up not reaching out (+ don’t want to TALK). I’m the same receiving check-ins during this time. I’m inundated with them and while I appreciate it, truly, it’s a lot.
