Wait how does this work exactly? If there's less people watching ads wouldn't the ad price go down? They have no real incentive to pay more if this trend will just continue to grow. Maybe I'm just not understanding. It's not like I know much about economics.

The more rare something is the more it’s worth. Like gold is worth a lot because it is rare. If there was crazy amounts of gold everywhere then the value for it would drop. Not 100% sure but I’m pretty sure

Right but ads really isn't a tangible thing. So why would anybody want ads other than the people making the videos? And if there's less people watching ads and this is a continued trend then what reason do they have to pay for more ads if less ppl watch

And I'm pretty sure the law of supply and demand is to sell for less when there is little demand. Also, advertisements isn't something that can ever be rare if it's not even tangible (e.g., gold and clothing).

I don't think what keem has purposed could actually work under these circumstances. It wouldn't be beneficial for any company trying to advertise on YouTube which would lead to less ads being paid for by these big corporations.
